Dear Harbor Island West Marina Skippers,

Our marina redevelopment project is moving right along, and we’re excited to share the latest updates with you!

Parking Update:

Over the past month, you’ve probably noticed the trenching and utility work in the west portion of the parking lot. The great news is that most of this work is now complete. We’ve even been able to open portions of the lot on weekends, which has already made things a bit easier. While we still don’t have the full lot available just yet, the current parking arrangement has been working better these past few weekends—and we expect to keep this setup through mid-September.

I am also working with the Port District to finalize an offsite parking option on Harbor Island. This will add about 50 additional spaces, and we hope to have that ready in the next 2–3 weeks. We’ll keep you posted on exactly when it’s available and how to access it.

For now, just a friendly reminder—parking is limited to one vehicle per boat, and please make sure your marina parking sticker is clearly displayed when you arrive. This makes things much smoother for our lot attendants. Vehicles without a sticker won’t be able to access the lot. And as always, carpooling, ride-sharing, and other creative ways to get here are encouraged!

What’s Next:

You may have noticed the temporary trailers that recently arrived in the southwest part of the lot. These will soon be outfitted as our boater shower rooms and marina offices during construction. Our plan is to move out of our current building by September 30th—we’ll confirm exact dates as we get closer.

Looking ahead, work on the waterside is scheduled to begin in November and December, starting with the 100 and 200 docks. Boaters in those areas have begun receiving new slip assignment information—if you’re on one of these docks and haven’t heard from us yet, please give us a call.

Thank You for Being Part of our Marina Community:

We’re just a couple of months into this 24-month journey, and your patience, flexibility, and good humor have been incredible. We’re grateful for your understanding as we work toward a better, more revitalized marina for everyone to enjoy.

We’ll keep sharing updates every couple of weeks—or sooner if there’s big news to share. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or even just to say hello.
